A Romantic Pre-Wedding Shoot at Haddo House | Favourite Moments From Your Aberdeen Wedding Photographer

Bianca and Pete’s pre-wedding photoshoot at Haddo House was so much fun from the start. You know when you meet a couple and can just tell they completely adore each other? And, of course, their Dalmatian Alba was right there with them, stealing the show in their pre-wedding portraits!

Haddo House is one of Aberdeenshire’s most stunning spots, with its grand architecture, beautiful gardens and traditional Scottish charm. It’s also a National Trust property, meaning exclusive permission is required to shoot there – so winning this prize as part of a competition they were running was extra special. When Rhona, the wedding coordinator, told me about the competition, I jumped at the chance to add a photoshoot for the winner, and she was all for it.

A Couple Made for the Camera

As soon as I met Bianca and Pete (along with the lovely Alba), I knew it was going to be a brilliant shoot. Bianca and Pete were the coolest pair and turned up with big smiles, and Alba was in her element, ready to get involved! Dogs always bring a fun, relaxed vibe to shoots, and she was a total star. She posed, she played, and she demanded all the well-deserved pets.

Making the Most of the Weather

Of course, we weren’t exempt from the classic, unpredictable Scottish weather during this shoot. But Bianca and Pete were fantastic and didn’t care one bit, laughing through the drizzle as we continued to explore the grounds. They laughed away, and just enjoyed the session together. Their carefree attitude made for the most beautiful, candid shots and showed how the natural moments always make the best portraits.

A Picturesque Picnic Worth the Wait

After wandering the grounds, we headed to the walled garden where their picture-perfect picnic for two was awaiting them. The Haddo team had put together such an amazing spread, and I snapped a few romantic shots as they enjoyed a well earned break. Just two people, in their own wee world, soaking it all in, while Alba patiently waited for her share of the picnic.

A Day to Remember

By the time we wrapped up, I knew this was a pre-wedding shoot I’d remember. Bianca and Pete were the kind of couple who make my job easy – laid-back, fun and just happy to be together. They didn’t care about the rain, they just cared about enjoying their afternoon. And that’s exactly what makes for the best couple shots.

It wasn’t a shoot where you have to coax a couple into relaxing in front of the camera, they just did their thing and were such naturals. They wandered, they laughed and genuinely looked like they were out of a rom-com, and Alba was there for a dose of extra love. It was one of those pre-wedding sessions where you forget you’re actually working because you’re busy having fun.
