Fun-Filled Winter Wedding at Logie Country House by your Aberdeen Photographer

Carly and Davie’s wedding at Logie Country House in Aberdeenshire was all about good vibes, family, and keeping things real. No stress, pretty frills—a day packed with love and laughter.

A Chill Approach

These two were clear from the start: no fuss, no unnecessary traditions. There wasn’t a cake, and they skipped evening guests altogether. Instead, they focused on celebrating the whole day with their nearest and dearest, at this stunning, exclusive use Aberdeen wedding venue, and it worked.

Personal Touches Everywhere

Carly’s aunt created a stunning watercolour floral design that featured in their stationery—just one of the many DIY details that made the day feel personal. There were hangover kits for the guests and goodie bags for the suppliers. Friends and family chipped in with decor, making everything feel authentic and heartfelt.

All About Family

Family was at the heart of this wedding. Carly and Davie’s kids were front and centre, from the boys’ LEGO footballer buttonholes to the girls’ teddies and wands. One of the cutest moments? Their youngest daughter, Hannah, deciding she wanted to be in her dad’s arms/on his shoulders during the ceremony. They just went with it, which says everything about their laid-back, family-first vibe.

Big Moments

Carly’s brother gave a touching speech in place of their late father, as well as having the honour of walking her down the aisle (with Hannah in tow too!).

Andrew Scott’s ceremony brought the laughs, including a cheeky swear word that Carly had to later apologise to her grandma for!

Carly’s cousin read a beautiful poem called “Maybe” during the ceremony which included a line that stuck: “Maybe we are supposed to meet the wrong people before we meet the right one, so when they finally arrive, we are truly grateful for the gift we have been given.”

During the speeches, Carly’s colleagues from the amazing Friends of Anchor charity (which is where I met Carly) hosted a wedding-themed game of Heads and Tails (Mr and Mrs), raising over £600 thanks to the generosity of the guests.

The Party

After dinner, the tables were cleared, and the party kicked off. A saxophonist had already set the tone during the meal, and as soon as there was enough space, the dance floor was packed. Glow sticks made an appearance, and I couldn’t help but join in to snap some shots of everyone letting loose.

Candid Vibes

Carly and Davie weren’t into the whole posed photo thing, “we aren’t a lovey dovey couple” (although they proved me wrong!) so we kept their couple’s shoot short and easy. A quick walk around Logie Country House, some hand-holding, bosies, lots of laughs, and we were done. The rest of the day was all about capturing real moments—exactly what they wanted.

Winter Wedding Win

Who says you need a summer Saturday for a wedding? Over 100 people came out on a Wednesday in January to celebrate with these two. The weather might have been freezing, but it was dry and calm—you can’t ask for more of a Winter wedding in Scotland.

Love Notes

Carly emailed me the day after and said: “Oh my goodness Rhea. The biggest thank you ever for yesterday 😭✨ You’re honestly a wee ray of sunshine. You just seemed to be here, there, and everywhere! Everyone was commenting on your bubbly, friendly personality and so many people asked, ‘Where did you find her?’ 🥰 The photos are wonderful. Thank you so much for sending *the sneak peeks* over; we are delighted and can’t wait to see the rest.”

Suppliers

Carly and Davie’s wedding was proof that the best days aren’t about all the added extras —they’re about real moments, good people, and lots of fun. If that sounds like your vibe…
