Carolyn & Josh | Scotland Pre-Wedding Photoshoot in Aberdeenshire
When Carolyn and Josh flew in to see their future wedding venue, Drum Castle in Aberdeenshire, it only made sense to do a Scotland pre-wedding shoot in Aberdeenshire, the Scottish countryside. Not only did this give them a chance to cosy up and get beautiful photos, but it also gave them a chance to get more comfortable with me and the idea of being in front of the camera.
The results? A rainy day shoot that I can’t get enough of!
Carolyn & Josh’s Love Story
Carolyn and Josh will be tying the knot in a two-day affair this June, so the couple knew they needed to visit Drum Castle before their big day. Since the pair was already in the area, we decided on a pre-wedding shoot to capture their love. Because Carolyn is originally from the Aberdeenshire area, she was keen on having her photos taken in the surrounding area.
I recently came across a spot near Inverurie when on a walk with my dog, Arthur, and I knew it was the perfect location. Although it required a bit of climbing, the couple wasn’t afraid to go to work in order to get the shot!
We started with beautiful portraits overlooking Bennachie before stopping on the way down to capture some atmospheric evening shots using some battery-powered lanterns I had in my Jeep. They’re some of my favourite shots I have ever taken, and I’m even more excited for their wedding day in June!
Is a Pre-Wedding Photoshoot in Aberdeenshire Right for You?
There are countless reasons to do a pre-wedding shoot with me.
Some of those reasons include:
1. Getting to Know Me
Although we’ve probably spent hours emailing back and forth, or maybe we’ve even hopped on a video call, nothing makes you feel more at home than meeting face-to-face to get a glimpse of what to expect on your wedding day.
2. Helping You Relax
Being in front of the camera for the first time can be a wee bit nerve-wracking! As a wedding photographer, is my job to get you comfortable, but having those nerves is inevitable. Once you realise just how easy it is in a more casual setting, you’ll be a pro on your wedding day.
3. Use for Pre-Wedding Needs
Many couples choose to do an engagement session to use for their save-the-dates, wedding invitations, and even decor for the big day itself. Not to mention that you can never have too many beautiful pictures with your partner!
Cheers to the Future
No matter where you are in your wedding planning journey, you deserve to be celebrated. Carolyn and Josh’s pre-wedding photoshoot is proof that taking yourself on a Scottish adventure to take photos of your love is, and always will be, worth it. So, if you’re on the fence, take this as your sign to slow down and appreciate the engagement stage. It will be over before you know it.
