Ashleigh & Richard | Lively Fun Wedding at Meldrum House
I’ve seen my fair share of weddings, but Ashleigh and Richard’s may take the cake as one of the most fun and eventual celebrations I’ve ever been to. It was an absolute party.
From the moment I walked into the hotel, the music was loud, the bride and her girls were dancing, and the drinks were flowing. It didn’t stop there. Their Meldrum House wedding also included donuts from a converted caravan, a cocktail gazebo, and choreographed dances.
The Incredibly Thought-Out Personal Touches
When I entered the hotel room, Ashleigh immediately gave me a bag full of goodies, including chocolates and a card, as a thank-you for shooting her wedding. Although I never expect anything from my couples, the fact that she thought of me (and my second shooter and her other vendors) warmed my heart.
But we weren’t the only ones the couple thanked. During the ceremony, Ashleigh and Richard invited the mums up, and they gave each of them a gift just to say thank you for how much they’ve done for them in their lives and to help with the wedding day. Though small, these thoughtful touches are something I will never forget.
Soaking Up the Perfect Weather at Meldrum House
Scotland’s weather can be… unpredictable. But we got lucky on Ashleigh and Richard’s wedding day. The guests cosied up inside for the ceremony, which was dripping in white roses and greenery. Then they moved outside during the drink reception, where the sun was shining for the rest of the evening.
A Truly Unique Wedding Dress
Every bride looks like a true princess on their big day, but Ashleigh took my breath away in her custom-made wedding gown. All I have to say is WOW. It was one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen. When I see a dress, I always think, “Would I wear that dress?” And Ashley’s was an absolute yes!
The sheath gown fitted her perfectly, but the highlight in my eyes was the iridescent blue and pink coloured embellishments on the bodice. When the leaf details caught the light, they truly sparkled. It was beautiful.
Party Starting Entrances That Kept the Dance Floor Going
Wedding entrances have taken social media by storm, and Ashleigh and Richard’s was no exception.
Each wedding party came in with a different song, rocking sunglasses and dancing to get everyone on their feet. Once the party was at an all-time high, Ashleigh and Richard came in, and Ashleigh gave a surprise speech complete with a toast of mini Guinness shots.
Ashleigh’s speech wasn’t just about getting everyone excited for the rest of the night. She also spoke from the heart, saying that she had not only gained a husband today but also the best sister-in-law. Seeing the family vibes and how close they all are was absolutely lovely.
Live Music to End The Night
At the end of dinner, a saxophonist came into the room, and all the guests were given really cool foam light-up glow sticks. The sax player, aka the hype man as he describes himself, was there to keep the party going, so he got everyone up out of their seats. Everyone was waving their glow sticks and dancing around, and then he led everyone out of the dining room and back through to the bar. Now that’s how you keep the partying vibes up!
